They look just like they were snatched up from the past. She is a innocent naive girl who has a lot of growing up to do. You never know which one she is goinig to fall for. Of course the two love interests (the Preacher and the Doctor)keep the series interesting. Tyne Daly (Alice)does a good job as the strong missionary woman who is the backbone of the work. She is believable in the story as Christy. The series sometimes embellishes some of the events from the book. Even though I was familiar with the story the movies hold a lot of surprises. I had read the book as a teenager and re-read it again. This series is about her Mother's experiences as a young missionary/teacher in the hills of Tennessee. I remember it from TV and had taped some of the shows and would periodically watch them. A complete family entertainer, this historical fiction drama is a must-watch.
